Discography

This track ties together what I've learned about making music so far. I wrote and performed this chord progression, designed the virtual instruments I used from Ableton's library and added a skit aspect to develop its character. I'm really happy with how it turned out as it's one of my favorites to replay.

One certainty in life is at some point you will be uncertain. And in those times, it might help to heed the wise words of Uncle Iroh. I chopped up these samples with Ableton Simpler to emulate the style of some of my favorite Hip Hop producers, giving this track a lovely, dreamy soundscape.

Phife Dawg rapped one of my favorite verses on A Tribe Called Quest's “Vibes and Stuff”. I wanted more practice with vocal processing so I chopped up samples to create a beat in Ableton and mixed in his verse. I have more to improve on but I'm very proud with how this turned out.

TiaCorine is one of my favorite new artists to come out. I tried my hand at remixing her biggest song in a new genre for me: House. This groove is really fun and I had a blast bringing it out of the track.

Video game music will always be my favorite to sample. Their melodies are often whimsical, lush and full of character. This sample from my favorite Zelda iteration - Ocarina of Time - was the gift that kept on giving. I slowed and pitched down the sample, added drums, Navi vocal stabs and a rainstorm to give the track a gloomy but reflective mood.
